Hello! I’m Jenny

A former primary school teacher and the brains behind Fuchsia Beauty.

A few years ago, I swapped lesson plans for nail files and launched Fuchsia Beauty right here in Bristol. What began as a brave leap of faith has grown into a cosy, calm space where our clients can truly switch off and be looked after properly.

At Fuchsia Beauty, we specialise in bespoke, high-quality treatments for hands, feet, face and body – with a holistic touch and absolutely no rushing. Whether you’re popping in for immaculate nails, beautifully shaped brows or a restorative facial, our aim is simple: for you to leave feeling polished, relaxed and entirely yourself again.

Fuchsia Beauty is a home salon, but not as you might expect. It’s private, welcoming and beautifully run: A place where you’re never rushed, never double-booked and always genuinely looked after.

We take our time, we pay attention and we care about the details.

Fuchsia Beauty: A Potted History

In 2013, I was thoroughly burnt out. After 17 years working in education, it was no longer bringing me the joy it once had and I knew something had to change. I loved working with people, but I wanted more balance, more creativity and if I’m honest, a better quality of life.

So I took the plunge and retrained as a nail technician and therapist. I swapped my whiteboard pens for nail files, playground duty for pedicures, and primary school children for, erm, a rather large collection of nail polishes.

Fast forward to today, and Fuchsia Beauty has grown into a small but brilliant team of dedicated therapists who genuinely care about what we do. We take pride in doing things properly – no conveyor-belt treatments, no corner-cutting. Just thoughtful, skilful work carried out with precision and care and delivered in a warm, welcoming setting.

We’re incredibly lucky to have built a loyal community of clients. Professionals, mums, jugglers of many hats, who value quality, calm and a little time carved out just for themselves.

Helping you relax and leave feeling confident, polished and refreshed isn’t just our job. It’s what we love doing. And yes, we like to think we’re rather good at it too – but don’t just take my word for it.

getting to know jenny

  • I have read Little Women at least 15 times.
  • I won 2nd place in a spelling competition in Year 6. I went out on the word ‘baboon’, spelling it ‘babboon’.
  • I have lived and taught in Italy and Finland and was even a lecturer at the University of Lapland. (Yes, it’s a real place!)
  • When I first watched ET at the cinema, I needed to use the toilet but couldn’t tear myself away from the film. With hindsight, I should have gone.
  • I like the smell of petrol and creosote.
  • I used to own an imaginary horse called Champion. If you see her, let me know; she ran away when I was 12 and I haven’t seen her since.
  • I abhor fizzy drinks other than prosecco!
  • The only detention I got in secondary school was in history. A pupil threw a bottle of tippex at his friend and it hit me on the forehead, bounced on to the table and exploded all over my essay on the discovery of penicillin. I still harbour deep resentment at the teacher for my unwarranted detention.
  • I find excessive use of exclamation marks annoying and an incorrectly used apostrophe can fill me with rage!
  • I have loved Michael Ball since I was 19 years old and this shows no sign of waning yet.
  • My tonsils have been described as freakishly large and my eardrums as ‘tiny as a gnome’ both by suitably qualified medical professionals.
  • I was sacked from my first shop job for pretending to be a mannequin in the window with my friends Sian and Chris. Presumably the owners of Pinkie and Perky children’s clothes shop didn’t appreciate our creativity.

getting to know the team

  • Megan is a Pepsi Max addict. Don’t ever suggest she might want to give up!
  • She has loved Justin Bieber for more years than is healthy.
  • She can play the flute and has been known to whip it out and serenade people whether they want to listen or not.
  • She adores karaoke and Shania Twain’s ‘Man! I feel like a woman!’ is her song of choice.
  • She has 22 tattoos and 17 piercings and hasn’t ruled out having more.
  • Malwina did a week’s work experience at Fuchsia Beauty when she was 15. Best work experience student ever!!
  • Her favourite flower is Lily of the Valley and she loves, and I mean loves, boba tea.
  • She can apparently touch her nose with her tongue, but I’ve never witnessed this feat, so will have to take her word for it.
